Thought 264: Accounts and Accountability

One is accountable for one's accounts. Although true of bank accounts, this is particularly true of one's moral accounts in that we are accountable to the creator of the universe for all our thoughts, feeling and deeds.

This is why it has been said
"No minister or priest can absolve you of your sins"
because no human being is the Creator and to re-present God is by definition to mis-present God for no mere mortal mind can do justice to the vastness of cosmic intelligence.

Moreover, those who believe in reincarnation rather than the 'one life and out' doctrine will perhaps be more driven to act with care than those living for the immediate moment, oblivious as these are to the next-worldly consequences of their actions, however immoral and harmful.
